“I need immediate surgery,” said Harry on his knee “If I can’t give 100%, it’s better for someone else to take over.” That is the given reason for Harry Redknapp resigning as Queens Park Rangers manager. Nothing to do with his side placed perilously two points off last place in the Premier League, nothing at all to do with the fact that he was unable to strengthen in the transfer market.

However after a quick glance at the league and then a glimpse of the squad available most fans would be happy with his exit.

A roster including:

Rob Green
Steven Caulker
Rio Ferdinand
Joey Barton
Mauricio Isla
Richard Dunne
Niko Kranjcar
Junior Hoilett
Eduardo Vargas
Charlie Austin

Should not be two points from last place.

You do not become a bad manager over night but perhaps Harry is stuck in the past, football has moved on and maybe Redknapp has not. Without a single win away from home, eyebrows have been raised of the formation and tactics employed by th ex Spurs manager.

Along with coaches; Les Firdinand and Glen Hoddle a whole host of names have been suggested. Luminaries such as Tim Sherwood, Steve McClaren and even Jurgen Klinsmann have been touted for the vacant position.
